Photos that were synced, you’ll have to transfer a different way. Image Capture should work for any “saved” photos that did not come over “synced” from an old library. There’s a lot of archaic rules to this, that were put in place to try and stop immense duplicates going into a person’s library, but it led to a lot of limitations that were frustrating if you weren’t doing things a certain way. So, assuming some of these photos were synced from an old computer, they won’t sync to a new one. Unfortunately, if you got a new computer and did not restore from backup, the iPod would stay paired with the old library. On these old software versions, the iPod would distinctively “pair” with a computer, and the photos would’ve been paired with said computer’s library.
